Venndann

Due to corona and social distancing constraints I created a small word guessing game. Thanks to ~Amsel~ it is called Venndann. The name is a reference to the Venn diagram.

It is a cooperative game where one player must guess a secret word, while the other player are giving hints with only one word.

I build Venndann using Elixir, the Phoenix framework and Phoenix Liveview. You can find the sourcecode here.

In 2020 we bought a nice VW T5 van and got rid of our cars.

The van was built in 2007. It was originally a transporter of a company in Belgium. Somebody eventually acquired the van and made a semi-professional camper out of it. We were quite happy with the built, so in the beginning we thought we might not have to change much. However we wanted to install solar on the roof and I wanted to install some sensors and maybe some automation. This lead to more work than expected (The wiring in the van was abysmal). Two years later the setup is now quite finished. Eventually I will write a detailed blog post about process.

I build a custom software in Elixir to read various sensor data and push it to a database on my server. You can find the sourcecode here.
